Annual 9/11 Memorial Paddle Out

Surfrider volunteers, along with Rockaway locals, once again partook in the annual paddle out to remember those fallen on that tragic day. Just prior to the paddle we were approached by Mark Temme, a local filmmaker, who came along especially to film the event. Mark is an advocate of surfing, and works in particular to reveal east coast board riding. We were fortunate enough to have him come, and are proud to have the footage of the paddle out below.
A small group gathered, paddled out a distance, and then formed into a circle. Joel, our Chair, said a few words and asked that we maintain the ring for a few moments of silence. Thanks to all those who participated.
