After several years on tour, Damien finally stepped out of brother C.J.’s shadow in 2004 with a stunning victory over world champion Andy Irons at the Quiksilver Pro Fiji. Damian continued his march towards surfing greatness with a 2nd place showing at Teahupoo and 1st place at the Nova Shin WCT Brazil in 2005.
